Today is National School Lunch Hero Day, and Bainbridge Elementary would like to recognize our school cafeteria workers. These individuals work hard everyday to serve our students their meals. A HUGE thank you goes out to Rachel Fenton, Mel Estep, and Rose Goodroad for all their hard work in our cafeteria. Our 2nd grade students did a great job of showing our appreciation for our cafeteria staff today.

Teacher Appreciation Week begins next week (May 6th - May 10th) at Bainbridge Elementary, and there will be special "spirit days" throughout the week to celebrate our amazing teachers. A HUGE thank you goes out to all of our teachers for all that they do.

After learning about lessons involving Earth Day last week, Mrs. Coffman's 1st Grade Students went around Bainbridge Elementary cleaning up trash to help make a difference. They did an excellent job! Thank you so much!

Bainbridge Elementary 2nd grade students enjoyed an amazing visit to Indiana's oldest state park, McCormick's Creek, today. Students went on a hike to see the historic Peden Farm, a waterfall, a spring house, and visited the nature center in which a naturalist gave a talk on turtles and king snakes. The students had a wonderful time.

Happy Administrative Professional's Day, Mrs. Watson and Mrs. Franklin!

Putnam Parks and Pathways invited North Putnam and South Putnam 2nd grade students to visit the DePauw Nature Center during the month of April. Bainbridge 2nd graders took their field trip to the park today (Friday, April, 19th). .
The day began cloudy and misty, but by arrival time at the park, Mother Nature was shining down on the group and provided the students a wonderful day to enjoy nature. Activities that occurred during the trip:
Discussion on gravity. Objects were dropped from the tower at the welcome center.
Students had magnifying glasses to make observations of nature objects at the welcome center.
There was also a session of trees and birds, with a walk to a small pond.
A blindfolded sensory hike took students to an area for a scavenger hike.
Students brought their lunches and enjoyed eating them in "Nature's cafeteria."
Then after lunch a hike to the "old quarry" was quite a treat for the students.
THANK YOU to John Garner and all of his helpers who made the day "happen" for our students. A shout out to four NPHS students (all former "Bainbridge kids")-who donated their Friday to help with the day!
